Top Ten List

My life is crazy. And busy. And crazy busy. But, that is how I love it. I love that we have somewhere we could go everyday...another friend to see, something fun to do. Even though we have pajama days here at the house, it's still lovely to have something to do. Maybe it keeps me sane, or maybe it combats boredom! Either way, I love it!

Here's a poem I came across many moons ago, and I'll share it with you:

Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
The signs are everywhere.

For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the door.
I should apologize, I guess,
For toys strewn on the floor.

But I sat down with our children
And we played, and laughed, and read.
And if the doorbell doesn't shine,
Their eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I'm forced to choose
One job or the other
I want to be a housewife,
But I'd rather be their mother.

Don't you just love that little poem?? I love it when people say that we're JUST stay-at-home moms or "OH...you don't work." WHEW - I would love to see THOSE people tame a toddler tantrum or convince a 5-year-old to clean her room! My work is never done, but I do love to have fun while I'm doing it!

Today, I'm going to be David Letterman and share with you my "Top Ten List" of things I can't live without (at least, not at the moment)! Of course, leaving out the obvious things, like God, my family, my friends...you know. These are sheer material things, that I could be a tad bit obsessed with. :)

I know you've been waiting for this....

Amanda Torres' Top Ten List
(in NO particular order)

1. DVR - YES, I'm addicted to Y & R, and the only time I can watch it is when the kids are sleeping!!

2. My laptop - oh, I would be such a sad girl without this machine. It is my answer to any question, my adult conversation (on Facebook, lol), my connection to the outside world. I. Love. It.

3. Chai tea - more specifically, an iced chai tea (either from Starbucks or Amandabucks, whichever happens to be more convenient!). There is something about this milky, spicy tea that soothes me and makes me just plain happy. :)

4. My Blackberry - they don't call it a "crack"berry for nothing! I sleep with her by my side. She is my phone, my internet, my alarm clock....

5. My GPS - since I moved to SA, I could not LIVE without this thing. At least once every week, I'm forced to go somewhere I've either never been or couldn't get back to, even to save my life. So, this is the most handy gadget some days of my life!

6. The Disney Channel - NO, not because I watch it. Because I can turn it on for the girls, and buy myself nearly 30 minutes of uninterrupted time, depending on what's on TV! Oh, the little things in life...

7. Twilight - OH MY, I'm in love with Edward. And, yes, Gonzalo knows about it. I've watched Twilight about 4 times, and New Moon 3 times. I could actually stay up and watch them both again right now! My favorite quote: "I love you.....but please, don't make me choose. Cause if I choose, it'll be him. It's always been him."

8. The Duggars - I love this sweet TV family! I watch them every chance I get, and even Rayven says it's her favorite show. We love seeing their 19 kids, and learning how they live with such a big family. Great, clean TV!

9. A hair clip - Stop by my house at almost ANY hour of any day, and you'll find a hair clip in my hair. Sure, I may have fixed it earlier, but if I'm home for the day, the hair's getting pulled up!

10. Pajamas - YES, these make me happy! Right up there with the hair clip, you could find me in my jammies almost any time of day as well! I do get dressed.....most days, lol....but pajamas are my most comfy attire. Don't lie - you'd wear them all the time if you could, right??

So these are a FEW of my favorite things!
